I really enjoyed my trip to Surrey, British Columbia, Canada.
I drove up from Seattle to meet with Ted & Joan Eaton. Ted served in the British Royal Navy during WWII. It was a beautiful day. The Eatons surprised me with a fantastic lunch. Then Ted and I sat down and I interviewed him about his experiences during the War. Ted did a super job in describing in detail his unique time in Burma. He showed me his chest full of medals he earned there. I cannot remember a time where I enjoyed meeting two people more than Joan and Ted. They have been married over 50 years together. Joan said it was love at first sight and I believe her. The Eatons are some of the nicest people I have ever met. Kindness and Integrity. Two words that could describe them. I was interviewing Ted as a favor for a fellow member of the Association of Personal Historians, Don Clark, from England. He is making a documentary about the recipients of the Burma Star. I can't wait to see the final movie.
